About 1/2 an hour ago, I popped into the restroom, and as I was washing my hands, I looked in the mirror. The rate at which I am going gray (quite suddenly) is astounding.
I don't think I'm that upset about going gray. My hair is so dark that I've never been able to dye it. (Well, never been able to dye it WELL. There were obviously many sun-in experiments back in the 80s, but let's try to forget those, shall we?) In my mind, going gray is my hair's way of finally letting me play around with hair color. I am a bit concerned with texture, as I realize that gray hairs are much more coarse, and if the ones showing up every day (hour) are any indication, mine truly will be quite insane. They are longer and more wild than my black hair. They're not mild mannered at all.
I like that about my new gray hairs. They might very well be in indication that I need to slow things down a bit, but I don't really have any intentions to do that. It would be fabulous to find more time to write and cook (and those are both goals for 2010), but I like that my job is high pressure and that my kids are crazy and that my life is filled with speed bumps. I don't do well with boredom, and my punky new gray hairs are kind of symbolic of that for me.
I love your gray! I started getting gray very early - probably late 20s. I have been coloring my hair (my natural color of exciting dark brown) for years. When my roots get long, I contemplate trying to embrace my gray, but I don't think I'm there yet. My gray has gotten so stubborn that I have to color every 4-5 weeks...and it's really getting old. (pun intended) Embrace or not embrace?

Yea, you! Think of it as facing the new year with a new look. (Um,I'm still hiding behind my triple-process color, but am going to do my best to otherwise embrace the craziness of my life.)

I think your gray--nay, silver--hairs look beautiful.

I first noticed that I had gray hair my senior year in high school... 10 years later I am definitely going gray. I wouldn't mind so much but my mom has about the same amount of gray hair as me (I should be happy for her instead of jealous)!

I agree with those that love it. Very female Clooney.

Love it. If you haven't noticed, I think I've lapped you already. Before my wedding I discovered that the Nice & Easy wash in/wash out stuff works pretty well and since its non-permaent you don't end up with a big line when it grows out. Of course, I keep forgetting to use it again. I too sort of like the grey!
P.S. Avoid the work bathroom mirrors. I swear they magnify grey!

Your grey looks foxy. If I could pull mine off I wouldn't be heading to my hairdresser today to go artificially blonde {I'm very dark naturally, with streaks of grey}. Sigh.

I love the grey. Besides, it's not like a few stray greys could in anyway dampen such beauty.
