I've mentioned before that I'm not a huge fan of food blogs. I realize that this sounds somewhat ridiculous, because, well, I am a food blogger (right?). But, many food bloggers only blog about food, and I think that is pretty boring. Food for food's sake is pretty much always a boring proposition. Food enjoyed with family? Food enjoyed with friends? Food eaten alone, but while reading a great book, or thinking about the person who handed over the recipe? Now we're talking.
So, that's why I don't like most food blogs. There are certainly exceptions. Wednesday Chef is awesome (and super cute - I met her in April). All of her posts are food-related, but they are never without a fun story about her boyfriend or her friends or her apartment. And David Lebovitz? He makes me laugh. My favorite post of his actually had nothing to do with food at all. It was about buying jeans in Paris.
But, every once in a while, I surprise myself. Two weeks ago, I found a food blog that rocked my world. This woman (who I saw at BlogHer, but was too shy to approach) makes everything she cooks look and sound like the most fabulous dish ever created. She is funny, she is honest, and I think she might drive my cholesterol level over the 300 mark. Seriously.
The above olive bread is one of her recipes. It will be made again. I also loved her corn pudding. And, after reading her latest entry on barbecued shrimp, I think I've come to realize that I should probably just throw out my cookbooks and stock up on the butter. I'll be needing it.

Mhmm, go ahead, ask me what's for dinner tonight......
BBQ shrimp!! That recipe is going to be a big hit in our family and of course, I will give you equal credit for sharing The Pioneer Woman with faithful readers of foodmomiac, like me.

Wow, she sure documents her food well. There must be three dozen pictures with each recipe! All the better to show off the butter, my dear.
