Another cooking video for your viewing pleasure.
This week, I made stuffed cabbage a la Michael’s Aunt Pat. Actually, she and his grandmother refer to this dish as Pigs in a Blanket, but to me, that’s something else altogether. ANYWAY, this was a very easy dish, and I made it in the crockpot, as part of my ongoing effort to tame the slow cooker beast. You could prepare the entire dish the night before and just throw it in the fridge overnight so that in the morning, you just need to turn on the crockpot and go.
Incidentally, Dylan LOVED this. She kept expounding on how delicious it was, and how I did such a great job flavoring it. She ate it twice; once with me, and then again an hour later, when Michael had his serving (halftime of the Pats/Colts game). Max also had two servings. I added a touch of sour cream to my plate to mellow the flavors. I thought it was a nice touch, but it is fine without it.
Enjoy!
You should make a video category so there's an easy link to all these great entries.

I love the videos! You really should do more of these.
These look really good. Had Dylan ever had them before? I don't know if I could get my crew to eat sauerkraut, but I am going to give it a try!

The cabbage looked great. My crock pot is smaller than yours can you reduce the ingredients without changing the taste? Please get a better lighting system, it was hard to see!

Jill - Dylan HAS had stuffed cabbage. When we lived in Toledo, we frequented a Hungarian restaurant where she used to share it with me. You could always do what I did for Max - he just ate the filling. It's kind of like meatloaf.
Mom - Yep - you can reduce it all no problem. In terms of lighting, I made a temporary decision to put my money towards your grandkids' college education. Would you like to contribute to the lighting fund?

I had to watch the video twice, because the first time I was distracted by your fantastic hair. And then I remembered THE COOKING! PAY ATTENTION TO THE COOKING!

THANKS SO MUCH FOR DOING THIS VIDEO!! I don't cook very often but I've been getting into it a lot now. Everything tastes so much better and it seems like I savour it more! My best friends grandmother cooked this for us right before she died a few months ago so I wasn't able to get the recipe :(
I too didn't really think it was pigs in a blanket but that's what she called it. I'm going to cook it right now and I'll be back later to let you know how it turned out. Thanks again.. I agree with the other posters, you really should do more of these videos if time permits. I understand you're busy lol
The lighting was fine for me because you gave good verbal instructions :)
Have a wonderful day!
