Our house didn't sell.
We didn't even get one bid.
It's a really long story, but basically, there are two auctioneers in town. The evil whore, and the nice one. We used the nice one.
The evil whore one is auctioning a house behind us in one month. It's an absolute auction which means that the house will sell no matter what. There is no reserve price. The highest bidder gets the house, and that's that. This is CRAZY. This is also a surefire way to ensure that NO house in this neighborhood will sell prior to that auction. Everyone thinks that they will get the deal of the century by attending that auction. Oh, and did I mention that evil whore decided to put her GIANT sign up in front of that house THREE DAYS AGO??? And send an email out to everyone in our neighborhood TWO DAYS AGO???
So, we are screwed. And I am harboring very very bad thoughts towards the evil whore auctioneer. She and I had a little "to-do" a couple of years ago during which she threatened me with lawsuits and with her "security." I didn't realize I could dislike her any more than I already did. But, damn woman. I cleaned my house for 12 hours!!!! For NOTHING!!!
It is taking all of my strength not to post her name here. Because, if I do, I will likely be ahead of her site in any Google search, given the number of inbound links I have versus her crappy site. So, people searching for her site will find this diatribe instead. But, two wrongs don't make a right, karma, blah blah blah.
sigh...
UGH!!! I'm sorry HUGS!

That really bites! I'm sorry to hear this. There's got to be something us Old West Ender's can do to help out?

Thanks Mark,
I think there are a few things the neighborhood can do:
1. Tell everyone how evil and nasty that auctioneer is.
2. Spread the word about the houses for sale. We need to get more interest! We are willing to sell our house for a CRAZY deal right now. If you know anyone who might be interested in the neighborhood, spread the word!!!

Oh, ugh. I am so sorry! I was thinking of you this weekend and thought sure it would go great! That's just so frustrating, and I wish there was something I could do.

Have you thought about holding a contest for your house? People pay an entry fee around 100 dollars and then write an essay and they win your house. You have to have x number of entries in order to make it worth your while. I've seen this done with business's before.

Hey Randi,
Yes, we actually have thought of that. I think it might have worked once upon a time, but at this point, we really need to get out sooner than later. Dylan will be going to kindergarten in Ann Arbor, and I'd like to get her settled and registered ASAP.

Oh, no. Why on earth can't selling and buying a house work out without craziness and huge amounts of stress? Wishing you lots of interested buyers with lots of money to spend.
